AN OVERVIEW OF THE OLD TESTAMENT
Chronology of People, Events, and Nations; Geography; and a Survey of the Prophets
Orignially prepared in 1983, this compact book on the Old Testament of the Bible contains a well-presented and concise overview of historical background, geographical setting, chronological relationships, national and provincial conditions, cultural factors and the purpose(s) of OT writers. Having this background information prepares the Bible student to then study any portion of the Old Testament with a "big picture" knowledge base. Emphasis is on a continued historical outline, including the 400-year period between the testaments.
The second section of this book gives a brief survey of each book of the Old Testament prophets, including its historical back-ground and general content.
Suitable for personal or class study in teen or adult classes. Questions are not provided.
